Frequently Asked Questions
How is win probability calculated in poker? ▾
This tool uses Monte Carlo simulation, running 10,000 random deals of the remaining cards and counting how often your hand wins. The result converges to the true probability with less than 1% margin of error at that sample size.
What is pot odds in poker? ▾
Pot odds are the ratio of the current pot size to the cost of a call. If the pot is $100 and it costs $25 to call, your pot odds are 25%. If your win probability exceeds your pot odds, the call has positive expected value.

From highest to lowest: Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair, High Card. The hand rankings sidebar shows example cards for each hand.
What is the best starting hand in Texas Hold'em? ▾
Pocket Aces (A♠A♥) is the strongest starting hand, winning approximately 85% of the time against a random hand heads-up. Pocket Kings and Pocket Queens follow. Suited connectors like 9♠8♠ have lower absolute win rates but play well in multi-way pots.
